About Our Window

The Stained Glass Window was created by the Adult Class of the Vacation Bible School in August, 1982.  The class studied the Apostles' Creed (and related Bible passages) and selected sixteen Theological Themes within the Creed.  The students then created sixteen 9" x 16" Tiffany Stained Glass Panes to present a visual interpretation of the Creed.

During the fall of 1982, the students continued the work, and the window was completed in December, 1982 and dedicated in the Sanctuary in January, 1983.

The Window is three feet wide and five feet high and contains about 60 pounds of stained glass.  There are about 340 pieces of glass.  Each glass piece is individually wrapped with copper foil and soldered together.  The panes are grouted into a steel frame, which was welded at the West Point-Pepperell shop in Lindale.
